Reception Rooms & Kitchen
Wye House has a lot to offer when it comes to reception rooms. For starters, the house offers a large, rustic kitchen that’s perfect for whipping up delicious meals. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a double sink, four electric ovens, eight electric hobs, a combination microwave, a full-size double fridge/freezer, and two bar fridges. There is also a kitchen island with 5 stools that works well as a breakfast nook, or for keeping the cook company during meal prep. Alternatively, you’re more than welcome to organise caterers if you prefer to take a break from cooking!
One very attractive feature of Wye House is its expansive dining room, with seating for 21 guests. There is something truly special about gathering everyone around the table to enjoy a delicious meal together, and Wye House provides the perfect setting for this. On warmer days, guests are invited to make use of the large outdoor table for dining al fresco during the summer.
When it’s time to relax, you’ll be spoilt for choice between a multitude of spaces. First of all, 5 of the bedrooms are equipped with their own independent sitting rooms, making Wye House particularly well suited to both multi-generational family reunions and corporate retreats. There are a further 3 lounges, each offering its own unique ambience. The main lounge area comes with 2 sink-in sofas and a collection of armchairs. There is also a library room with an Ercol lounge set and leather armchairs, and the Leather Lounge, which is perfect for pre-dinner cocktails, sports games, or films on the 50-inch Smart TV.
Moving outside, you’ll find a covered games area, complete with a dining table, table tennis, and table football. There is also a hot tub for soaking your stress away, and a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and telling stories around the fire. Regardless of your reason for visiting Wye House, you can rest assured that you’ll leave with memories to last a lifetime.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The bedrooms sleep 18 adults across 9 king-size beds. Wye House can sleep 3 additional adults across 3 large single sofa beds.
They also have 5 blow-up mattresses for kids up to 12.
There is a charge of £25 for the sofa beds, and a charge of £15 for the single blow-up mattresses for guests up to 12 years old. Not suitable for adults or older teens. All prices include linen and towels.
To maximise your comfort, all bedrooms are made up with crisp white linen and warm wool throws. There are five large ensuite bathrooms with bath and separate shower, one smaller bathroom with claw foot tub and handheld shower plus a downstairs shower room with a double cubicle. All bathrooms provided with fluffy black towel sets and Farmers Welsh Lavender combination bottles of body wash/shampoo/handwash. This large accommodation near the Brecon Beacons comes with eight large bathrooms across the two accommodation spaces.
Entertainment
Wye House comes with lots of entertainment for guests of all interests. In summer, host an alfresco party in the landscaped garden with outdoor seating for over 20 guests - perfect for a BBQ. Relax in the 8-seater "Kirami" cedar-clad wood-fired hot tub with enchanting views of the Wye Valley (please request use of the hot tub prior to your stay). The undercover outdoor lounging area inside the timber-clad red brick upper barn will be a pleasant surprise with its cosy seating. This area features a gym and games room and also has garden games like swing ball, quoits, and darts. This space comes with festoon lights, but it's not heated. Furthermore, you will love the firepit area with seating for many, with charming views. This celebration venue in Herefordshire also comes with a children’s play area with a swing chair under the willow tree. You will also find outdoor play mats, a book library, a toy box and railway seater seating which makes this a child-friendly haven. There is an Aussie-style 'outback shack' under an ancient Mulberry tree that provides shade during the summer months and stunning views.

You will enjoy lovely walks right from your doorstep at Wye House. Some of these include Merbach Hill, Little Mountain and field walks with far-reaching views of the Wye Valley. Brecon Beacons National Park is only 27 miles away and makes a great day trip. Hike up Pen-y-Fan, the highest mountain in South Wales, or visit the Sgwd Yr Eira waterfalls for magical backdrops. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal are also worth a visit!
Hay-on-Wye is a lovely market town worth exploring. If you happen to be at Wye House on a Thursday, you can check out the Thursday Market which is only 4 miles away. Take a riverside walk at The Warren and go canoeing. If you want to do some shopping, Brook Street Pottery & Gallery exhibits a carefully curated range of British contemporary ceramics and jewellery and is only 4 miles away and is situated in a 300-year-old building. History lovers can visit Hay Castle, only 4.1 miles away. If you are with children, you can also take them pony trekking in the area.
If you would like to try something unique, there is a glassblowing workshop and course available with Eirian Studio Glass which is 3.8 miles away. Hay-on-Wye is a famous book town and also has lovely bookshops. Booth’s bookshop offers a wide selection of new, used, and vintage books and reading material.
