What was once one of Kendal’s most famous taverns is now one of the most unique and intriguing Party Houses, available for exclusive use by guests. Flintstone Manor served for decades as a reputable inn, with a downstairs pub available to the public and lodging upstairs. In 2018, the space was converted into a private holiday rental venue, with the bar and many other features available to those who visit this charming group accommodation in Cumbria. Countless unexpected features set this building apart - it is unlike anything you’re likely to have experienced before. In addition to granting guests easy access to the town of Kendal and all it has to offer, Flintstone Manor features a most unusual space. The basement of this Cumbria accommodation houses a cave-like bar, fit for the Flintstones. Flintstone Manor sleeps 16 guests between 7 bedrooms and comes equipped with a cinema room, private bar, hot tub and BBQ.

- Luxurious interiors
Reception rooms & kitchen:
Flintstone Manor has a number of communal spaces that are perfect for enjoying with your fellow guests. Entering the house, we find a magnificent, tasteful living room area, featuring elegant sofas and a large TV, with a slick electric fireplace beneath it. This space connects the various levels of the house, with a staircase leading upstairs to the bedrooms, and downstairs to the games room, cinema room and bar area. Sharing the ground floor, the fully equipped kitchen offers a modern, open-plan space for preparing delicious meals, which opens up to a 16-seater dining table. There is also a private patio with a hot tub and BBQ, accessible through the kitchen. While the upstairs kitchen and living room aren’t anything short of luxurious, downstairs is where things get really interesting.
One of the greatest appeals of this Cumbria holiday house is its collection of unique, unexpected spaces and features. The lowest level of this house offers a cave-inspired pub, reminiscent of the famous Flintstones cartoon. The pub has a truly eccentric atmosphere, with cosy lighting and seating for 9 guests. The bar connects to two more unique spaces, a billiards room and a cinema room, with a connecting room with a sofa. Both the lower and mid-levels of the house have bathrooms available, so there’s no need to run upstairs and risk missing your turn on the pool table or skipping too much of your movie.
Bedrooms:
When the movie’s over and the 8-ball is resting snugly in the socket, it’s time to head upstairs to one of the 7 luxurious bedrooms for a peaceful night’s sleep. Flintstone Manor has a total of 12 glorious beds, divided between the 3rd and 4th floor of the building. On the 4th floor, we find the 6th and 7th bedrooms and a shared family bathroom, with the rest of the bedrooms on the 3rd floor. The bedrooms are arranged as follows:
Bedroom 1 - 1 x king-sized bed
Bedroom 2 - 2 x single beds
Bedroom 3 - 2 x single beds
Bedroom 4 - 2 x single beds
Bedroom 5 - 1 x double bed
Bedroom 6 - 2 x single beds
Bedroom 7 - 2 x king beds
Local area:
One thing that sets this Cumbria holiday house apart is its location. Being an old tavern, Flintstone Manor’s front doors open up onto the streets of Kendal, with a wealth of fascinating things to do. Kendal is a civil parish and market town, set in the lake district of Cumbria. The town is known for its selection of boutique shops, historic sights, and festivals, and is also the home of the famous Kendal Mint Cake. Venturing further afield, guests can explore a number of nearby towns and surrounding natural beauty. Those who enjoy water-based activities might enjoy a day trip to Windermere Lake, which is a short 10-minute drive from the house. Guests can enjoy exploring the many nearby attractions before retiring to their accommodation for a game of pool and a couple of drinks or to hop into the hot tub after some al-fresco dining by the BBQ.
